How is Zakat calculated?
Zakat is 2.5% of the net wealth (cash, gold, silver, investments, business stock and receivables, minus debts) that you have held for one lunar year, provided it is above the nisab threshold.
What is nisab?
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth before Zakat becomes due, roughly the value of 87.48g of gold or 612.36g of silver. Enter the current value for your area.
